Angel claimed that you pared to tesss the book that when angel came back from Brazil, he could hardly be recognized by his mother because the cruel climate and hard work had aged him by twenty years, but tess accepted angel immediately, because he was the man she fell in love with.
I dont know why angel couldnt forgive tess since he himself had done the similar thing.
